今天要分享的一首歌，有点特别；这“LoveIs a Many Splendored Thing 爱情是一件多壮丽的事情”是一出同名电影的主题歌，而这电影的故事背景是与我们的中国香港有关的。

这电影是在1955年推出，故事的背景，定格在1949~50年代的香港，故事讲的是一个结过婚，但离了婚的美国记者-- Mark Elliot 在香港与来自中国大陆的一个中欧混血儿医生 -- 韩素音，双双堕入爱河；但是他们的交往，遭受到她的家人与香港社会的歧视。

这电影是改编自女主角韩素音（这是笔名）1952 年在英国出版的自传式小说 --- 《瑰宝》，原版书（英语写的）名为 A Many Splendoured Thing；韩素音原名叫周光瑚；父亲周炜是留学欧洲比利时的工程师，母亲是比利时的姑娘。韩素音（祖籍广东五华县水寨镇）在河南出生，从小就很聪明，不到十五岁，就在北京协和医学院当打字员，十七岁考进了燕京大学，但是在大学里，因为她是中欧混血儿而被歧视；十九岁赴欧洲 Brussels 布鲁塞尔（比利时首都）读医科；三年后回中国，与一名军官唐保璜结婚。后来她曾经在成都的医院当过助产士，并开始了她的写作事业；她的第一部小说就是以在成都生活时的经历作为题材。

1944年28岁的她离开中国，去了英国继续她的医科学业；而她的丈夫不幸在1947年东北的一场战役去世了。1948年她医科毕业并在1949年回到香港，在香港的玛丽医院实习，并遇到了她的第二段爱情，那是一位美国记者；但很不幸这位美国记者在1950年在韩国被杀了。韩素音就把她们这段从认识到恋爱的故事，写成小说，去悼念这段关系。后来在1955年这部小说被拍成了电影“Love Is a Many Splendored Thing 爱情是一件多壮丽的事情”
